Fabrics & Curtain Making

Can you work out how much fabric I need to buy to make my curtains or roman blinds?

Yes of course, you can either call our store or send us a message through our contact us page.

 

Do you have a curtain making service?

Yes, we have a curtain & blind making service.

Online orders can be placed via our website by following the simple steps found on each fabric page.

If you are local to us in Malvern, then we can offer a measuring, making and fitting service.

 

If I arrange for you to measure my windows or do any fitting, who will turn up?

All our measuring and fitting is carried out by members of our family, we pride ourselves on the personal service we provide to our customers. Rest assured we won’t send unfamiliar tradesmen to your house.

 

Do you have an upholstery service?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer an upholstery service, however if you live locally to us, we can recommend some brilliant upholsterers.

 

What curtain heading styles can you offer?

We can make your curtains up with the following heading styles.

Pencil Pleat, Pinch Pleat, Eyelets or Wave.

Can you make other soft furnishings?

We can make cushions, window seats and tie backs. If you have something else in mind, you can contact us, and we will investigate it for you.

 

I’m looking for a specific fabric, but I can’t find it on your website.

We have accounts with lots of manufacturers, many fabrics aren’t on our website. You can use our Fabric Request Form if you are searching for a specific fabric.

 

Do you have all fabrics on your site in stock?

Whilst we hold stock of thousands of fabrics. However, some fabrics will be ordered in from Manufacturers especially for you. If you would like to see a specific fabric, we recommend contacting us before visiting us.

 

Do you sell dressmaking or craft fabrics?

Yes, we have a selection of craft / dressmaking fabric in a store. Unfortunately, these aren’t on our website.

 

Can I wash my curtains?

We don’t recommend washing curtains, even if the fabric manufacturer says it is washable. We recommend vacuum cleaning them or as a last resort using a specialist dry cleaner.

 

What curtain linings do you use?

We use the best 116 pick 100% cotton sateen lining available to us as our standard lining. This has a Teflon coating that provides a crease resistant finish and is stain resistant against most house-hold stains. 

Our blackout, thermal and interlinings are also the very best quality.

We don’t use low quality linings.

 

What is a pattern repeat?

A pattern repeat is the measurement from where a certain part of the pattern repeats itself again. This measurement is used to make sure you have enough fabric to make sure the pattern starts in the correct place when joining the next length.

 

What is a Martindale Rub Test?

The Martindale is also known as a rub test, which is a test used to simulate abrasion. This is recorded as a figure based on a set breakdown criterion and recorded on a scale.

Is my fabric suitable for upholstery?

On each fabric page you should see the usage under product details. If suitable for upholstery there will be a Martindale grading. See the question above for more details.

Can I give delivery instructions?

Yes, when placing your order there is a section where you can give delivery instructions.

 

Can I collect my order from your store?

Yes of course, you can select ‘collect from store’ when placing your order. We will then email you when your order is ready for collection.

 

Can you send a VAT invoice?

All orders placed online will arrive with a VAT invoice. The invoice will also be attached to our dispatch email.

 

What is your VAT number?

Our VAT number is 274 7856 11

 

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes, all our products include VAT.

 

My payment has been declined while placing my order.

The most common reason for payments being declined is the billing address being incorrect. Sage Pay is especially strict on high value orders.

If you are placing orders from the EU, please make sure the postcode is in the correct format as this is a very common issue, especially with Sage Pay.

If you are still struggling, you can email us through our contact us page and we can arrange an alternative payment method.

 

Do you have a shop that I can visit?

Yes, we have a shop in Malvern, Worcestershire that you are very welcome to visit.

We are at the foot of the Malvern hills (area of outstanding natural beauty). Why not visit us and take a stroll on out beautiful hills at the same time?

 

Where can I park if I visit your shop?

Our car park can be accessed via Edith Walk, WR14 2HH.
